Art of game design chapter 20

Aesthetics are important but some people disagree and believe aesthetics are just surface details that have nothing to do with what they consider important which is the game mechanics. It is important to make the experience of the end user enjoyable. It is good to see your game in different aspects to really grasp and what your creating. It is hard to see things for what they really hard because it takes alot of focus and effort which not everyone wants to do.  As a game designer you always have to put that extra effort to understand your game in it’s deeper meaning. It is best to find a person who have an illustrative mindset if you don’t because they can help you describe parts of your game that you can’t really know about until you see it on pen and paper.A well-rendered image of a good idea is compelling in a way that few people can resist. This allows people to see and imagine entering your game world. Eventually you will   arrive at a beautiful game that is fun to play, and in which the artwork and gameplay complement each other perfectly, because they grew up together. Creating sketches that are simple, rough, and useful is a valuable skill that must be practiced. Games should look good from far away but it is more important to look good up close.  Audio can also be very powerful. Do not add music or sound to your game at the very end. The writer believes believes music should be picked first before designing your game. If you are able to choose a piece of music that feels the way you want your game to play, you have already efficiently made a great many subconscious decisions about what you want your game to feel like. If you music doesn’t add up with the game then you probably have to switch up your game. One thing you should consider carefully is finding a technical artist for your team. This unusual individual has the eye of an artist and the mind of a computer programmer.
